




We provide financial, social and emotional care and support to all members of the British Armed Forces - past and present and their families. The Legion is also the national Custodian of Remembrance and safeguards the Military Covenant between the nation and its Armed Forces and is best known for the annual Poppy Appeal and its emblem the
RED POPPY
So where does the money go? Initially it is all pooled at the District North offices, from where it is allocated to the support and welfare of veterans and their families living in Spain. This can include vital medical equipment including hearing aids, wheelchairs, glasses, mobility scooters and apparatus for the home.
All applications for help are income and savings related to ensure the most needy are helped first but the RBL will reply to any call for help within 3 days. The local branch are training more welfare case workers all the time, volunteers who generously give up their time to work with the many brave souls who gave so much for us.
Founded in 1921, the Legion is not just about those who fought in the two World Wars of the last century, but also about those involved in the many conflicts since 1945 and those still fighting for the freedom we enjoy today.
